The Photo Competition of the Belize Hotel Association (BHA) is meant for people to show the world their photos regarding the soul and beauty of Belize. This competition aims to:
- Promote creativity
- Gain engagement and following for BHA’s Instagram & Facebook
- Collect shareable and reusable content for BHA’s marketing purposes (media channels, events, guide, etc.)
- Encourage local & International travel
- Increase Hotel Sales
Registration & Rules
Participation in the photo competition is FREE!
- Participants MUST follow @belizehotelassociation on Facebook and Instagram
- Submissions MUST BE photos of Belize. All photos must be original work, taken by the entrants. The photo must not infringe upon the trademark, copyright, moral rights, intellectual rights, or rights of privacy of any entity or person.
- Submission must showcase contents pertaining to competition categories
- The photo must be in its original state and cannot be altered in any way, including but not limited to removing, adding, reversing, or distorting subjects within the frame. No personal branding in submissions.
- No use of profanity or nudity. Violators will be removed from the contest
- Submissions will not be accepted once the deadline lapses.
- The prize must be collected by the winner and is non-transferable.
Eligibility
This competition is open for participation by professional and non-professional photographers.
Participants must submit a minimum of four (4) pictures per person/ category and the same photo cannot be submitted more than once.
The participants grant the Belize Hotel Association (BHA) a free of charge, exclusive, irrevocable, transferable, perpetual, worldwide license to use the submitted photos. The BHA is entitled to publish and/ or use for marketing purposes the photos but has no obligation to do so.

Photos
- All photos must be in JPEG-format with a minimum resolution of 4000 x 3000 pixels.
- Photos can be taken in colour. The use of filters is not forbidden.
- All entries must be original works produced by the participant which have not been published anywhere.
- Competition submissions must not include any endorsements of products or services, or any obscene, violent, racist, religious intolerance or defamatory content. Incomplete entries or entries that do not comply with the formal specifications will be automatically disqualified.
- Submissions may also not be accepted into the contest if the image in the entry features an identifiable individual who has not given their consent to appear or if the image features advertising or trademarks which would otherwise require the BHA to obtain permission to use.
Prizes
One (1) winner will be chosen for each category. Five (5) winners will be chosen by a professional body of judges. All winners will be given a certificate and a cash prize of BZ$ 500.00 accordingly.
The prizes are as stated and are non‐transferable. If due to circumstances beyond the BHA’s control, the BHA is unable to provide the stated prize, the BHA reserves the right to award a substitute prize of equal value.
The winners will be notified by email within ten (10) working days of the winners being selected.
The BHA will actively endeavour to contact the winner with arrangements for the prizes for a period of 1 (one) month following the announcement of the competition winners. If the BHA is unable to contact the winner in this notification period, the BHA reserves the right to reallocate the cash prize.
Deadline
The deadline to register and submit your photos is November 30, 2021 at 12:00 a.m. No registration form or photo will be accepted after this date.
Things to note before registering:
- 1. Fill in your personal details, and indicate the required information regarding your photo.
- 2. Each photo has to be uploaded when registering. Entries will not be accepted unless submitted via this official contest channel. Entries not submitted through this channel will be deleted.
