Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association Annual General Meeting BHA Marketing Director Tessie Duran Tonaco was in Miami Florida, June 20-21, attending the CHTA Annual General Meeting. The AGM was preceded by several committee meetings and informative sessions that discussed environmental, health, and advocacy issues that are presently affecting the tourism industry throughout the Caribbean region. This year focused on Crime, Sargassum, Shared Economy/ Airbnb, Booking.com fee increases and more. These meetings are attended by Hotel Association Executives from over 30 Caribbean countries

The Belize Hotel Association held its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 from 1:00PM- 5:30PM at the Best Western Belize Biltmore Plaza Hotel in Belize City.  In attendance were the Board of the BHA,  Association Members, Ministry of Tourism Representatives, Belize Tourism Board Representatives, other Tourism Stakeholders and invited guests.     Prior to the AGM, the Belize Hotel Association hosted an informative seminar from 8AM to Noon. Experience Latin America ( ELA) was held in London, UK at the Chelsea FC, Stamford Bridge on June 10, 11 and 12, 2019. Now in its 32nd year, the Scuba Show was held this past weekend at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach California U.S.A. on May 4 and 5, 2019.  The Belize Hotel Association’s 2nd Vice-President Barbara Hall and Treasurer Rudy Gonzalez represented our membership at this event.
